Irene E. Goodman, 83, of 8982 Rt. 68 Rimersburg died at 7:30 AM Saturday June 14, 2014 at Clarion Hospital.
Born in the village of Hogback,Armstrong Co. April 23, 1931, she was the daughter of Charles and Juliana Kristes Phillips.
Irene was married September 11, 1948 to Jack Goodman who died June 13, 1982. She was a homemaker and when she was younger she worked several years at the former Davis Cookie Co. in Rimersburg. Irene was a Catholic.
She enjoyed traveling, casino trips, time with her family, and when she was younger hunting with her late husband.
Irene is survived by 2 daughters; Janie Griebel of Clarion and Gloria Lamont and her husband Skip of Karns City, a sister; Rose Hulihan of Erie, her son-in-law; Tim Kriebel of Sligo, 8 grand children, 16 greatgrandchildren, and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by daughters Jackie Kriebel and infant Mary, sisters Mary Gandolfi and Margie Bobberts, brothers John, Carl, and Steve Phillips, and one son in law Sam Griebel.
Irene’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday June 17, 2014 at the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg, 583 Main St.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Wednesday June 18, 2014 from St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Rimersburg with the Rev William Kuba, pastor, as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
