Carolyn Lee Myers

Carolyn Lee Myers, age 70, of Shippenville, passed away at the Golden Living Center in Shippenville on August 17, 2013 with her husband and son at her side.

Born on June 8, 1943, Carolyn was the daughter of Samuel Leroy and Mary B. (Best) Garris. She graduated from Keystone High School and then worked in banking, retail sales and doing office work.

She was a past member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ and was affiliated in her younger years with the Shippenville United Methodist Church.

On November 17, 1962, she married Dallas W. Myers at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Knox.

In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by her son, Dallas W. Myers, II; a sister, Barbara Ritts and her husband Fred of Seneca; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Gillingham of Horshoe Bend, Idaho; a nephew, Bruce Ritts and his wife Cheryl of Erie; and a niece, Sharon Blauser and her husband Todd of Greenville.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, James D. Myers; her mother-in-law, Martha V. Myers; her sister-in-law, Zola Myers; her brothers-in-law, Gale Myers and John Gillingham; and an infant son.

She was a devoted, loving wife and mother who took great pride in her home and lawn.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Golden Living Center in Shippenville, Clarion-Forest Visiting Nurse Association Hospice, and Dr. Randy Kreider for their wonderful, loving, compassionate care for Carolyn.

Memorial donations may be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Program (www.cfvna.org) 271 Perkins Road, Clarion PA 16214, or to a charity of the donor’s choosing.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, in Clarion where the family will receive visitors from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, August 20, and from 10-11 am on Wednesday, August 21. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow in the Millcreek Presbyterian Cemetery.
