Raymond L. “Buzz” Page

Raymond L. “Buzz” Page, 64, of Emlenton, a well-known area veteran, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Sunday, August 18, 2013.

Born at home in Foxburg on August 13, 1949, Raymond was the son of James and Annabell Grazier Page.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was a Vietnam War veteran and had earned the rank of Lance Corporal. He had served as a mortarman in Vietnam with the 1st Battalion 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, as well as the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. L CPL Page received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Campaign Stars, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation with Gallantry Cross with Palm, Rifle Markmanship Badge, and the Combat Action Ribbon. Raymond was a life member of the Parker VFW, the Disabled American Veterans, North American Iroquois Veterans Assoc., Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Iroquois Post #1587, and the KHE Sanh Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of American, League of separated Tribes (L.O.S.T.), National Native American Veterans Assoc., and National Museum of the American Indian. He completed his G.E.D. while at Camp LeJune in North Carolina. Raymond received his high school diploma from Allegheny Clarion Valley High School in May of this year as part of the school district’s Veterans Honorary Diploma Program.

Buzz loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed collecting war and Native American memorabilia, attending Native American gatherings, reading, and visiting friends and family.

Surviving is his wife, Belinda Irwin Page of Emlenton; five children, Rory Page of Parker, Crystal Mohler and her husband, Chris, of Emlenton, Eric Page and his wife, Charli, of Marble, Cheyenne Page and Treva Page, both of Emlenton; a grandson, Allan Page of Marble, two granddaughters, Kaylee Page of Marble and Shilah Mohler of Emlenton; a sister, Rose Edinger of St. Petersburg, three brothers, Jack Page and his wife, Janet, of Bruin, William Page and his wife, Betty, of Foxburg, and David Page and his wife, Susan, of Emlenton; three brothers-in-law, William Irwin and his wife, Vivian, of Knox, James Irwin and his wife, Holly, of Emlenton, and John “Dewey” Irwin and his wife, Tracy, of Emlenton, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Page and James Page, and two infant daughters, Mara and Linda Page.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Avenue, Emlenton, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Dan Myers, Pastor of the Foxburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Parker VFW and American Legion Posts. Interment will be in Emlenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to DAV, PO Box 14550, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
