Donna C. Bolt, 71, of East Brady, PA, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 3, 1942 in Arnold, PA, the daughter of Donald C. and Helen (Hemphill) Huffman.
Donna was raised in the Arnold and New Kensington areas and graduated from New Kensington High School in 1960. She married Alfred C. Bolt on June 3, 1966 and it was then that she moved to Sligo, calling the area her home ever since. Donna was a member of Sligo Presbyterian Church and served on the school board for Union School District for seven years in the 1980s. Literacy was a cause near to her heart, and Donna worked with the Literacy Council of Clarion County and also volunteered her time to teach people how to read.
For two years Donna and her sister ran a full-service bakery in Sligo featuring homemade cakes, bread, donuts, sticky buns and other delicious foods, but she most recently worked for the Clarion County Kirby dealer as a secretary and receptionist. She was an excellent baker and cook, and if anyone left her house hungry it was their fault because she always had an assortment of treats available. Family was paramount in her life and she was happiest when spending time with them. Donna will be remembered for always helping those in need and her family and friends will never forget her kind heart and sweet disposition.
Her memory will be cherished by son, Donald Bolt and wife, Terri, of Karns City; daughter, Jennifer Bolt, of East Brady; grandchildren, D.J. Bolt, Mason Bolt, Cassandra Bolt, Kayley Williams and Courtney Williams; and sisters, Shelly Haines and husband, Ronald, of Sligo, Penny Selker, of Clarion, Debbie Myers and husband, Dennis, of Sligo, and Ashley Huffman, of Brockway.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 40 years, Alfred V. Bolt, who died August 13, 2006.
Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Sligo Presbyterian Church, 403 Colerain St., Sligo, PA 16255,with the Rev. Stephanie Weaver officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville, PA.
