John Paul Hensler, age 77, of Palm Coast, Fla. formerly of Athens died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at his home. Born Nov. 28, 1935 at the family home in Point Rock (Meigs County), Ohio, he was the son of the late Dallas Jacob & Grace Ethel Canode Hensler. He was a graduate of Wilton High School and the Louisville Barber College.
John was self-employed for many years in the retail industry. Mr. Hensler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Flagler Beach, Fla. where he served as a Deacon, Frank Marquist Masonic Lodge, F& AM in Mansfield, Ohio and the Gideon Society. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a resident of Palm Coast, Fla. since 2000.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Linda (Pettit) Hensler; two sons, Steven Hensler and his wife Nancy of Oil City, Pa., and James Hensler and his wife Kirstan of Marietta, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jacob , Jordan and Jeffrey Hensler all of Marietta.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Millie Coen and a brother Dallas Clayton Hensler.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday 10:00am at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Castor Cemetery, Point Rock (Meigs County), Ohio. Friends may call Thursday 7-9pm at the funeral home.
