Clik here to view.James F. “Dad” Birchard, 75, of Oil City, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born June 10, 1938 in Oil City, he was a son of the late Nellie Birchard.
He attended Oil City Schools.
Mr. Birchard received a disability retirement from Joy Manufacturing in 1992 after 28 years of service. He previously worked for the parks department of the City of Oil City.
He enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching TV.
On January 2, 1960, he married the former Carol Botts, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Cynthia Reyes of Oil City, Barry Birchard and wife Pam of Killeen TX, James I. Birchard and wife Wendy of Oil City, and Lisa Hull and husband Richard of Oil City; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, two sisters, a brother, and his special pet, Gus.
Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Monday from 11 am to 1 pm.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1pm Monday with the Rev. Pete Knight, officiating.
Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorial donations be made to the family.
