Walter E. Henry, 79, of Highland Oaks, Shippenville, formerly of New Bethlehem, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Shippenville.
Born November 12, 1934 in Porter Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Leon E. and Flomy Huffman Henry.
Walter worked on the family farm for many years. He then worked at the St. Charles Brick Plant, where he retired.
He enjoyed farming, hunting, and loved his German Shepherds.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in New Bethlehem.
Surviving are a sister, Ruth Burdett and her husband, Paul, of Distant; a sister-in-law, Ella Henry of Clarion; five nieces and nephews, Karen Burdett of Distant, Paulette Nuhfer and her husband, David, of Ohio, Robin Peterson and her husband, Allen, of Clarion, Marty Henry and his wife, Roxanne, of New Bethlehem, and Craig Henry and his wife, Michelle, of Georgia; and numerous step nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eugene Henry.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.
Interment will be held in the Leatherwood Cemetery in New Bethlehem.
