Annella M. Camp, 93 , formerly of Plummer St. Oil City, PA. died at 11:15 A.M. Sunday Dec. 23, 2013 at Oakwood Heights in Oil City.
Born July 23, 1920 in Oil City, PA., She was the daughter of the late Frances Fink & Lynn W. Camp. Annella was a 1939 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School.
She went on to graduate from St. Vincent School of Nursing, Erie, PA. in 1942 and St. Francis School of Anesthesia, Pittsburgh, PA. in 1945.
She later did graduate work in Anesthesia in Chicago, IL and attended Villa Maria College in Erie and Clarion University.
Annella worked as a registered nurse anesthetist at the Oil City Hospital from 1945-1955.
She cared for her parents at home from 1955-1967 and in 1968 she started working as a registered nurse prevention worker at the Venango County Association for the Blind. In 1973, she became the Executive Director of the Venango County Association for the Blind, retiring at age 75 in 1995.
Her interests included photography, genealogy and traveling. She was able to travel worldwide from 1980- 1995.
Annella was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and had also attended Our Lady Help of Christians Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by 2 sister-in-laws T. Lee Camp of Lindale, TX Mary Margaret Camp of Tonawanda, NY many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and dear cousins. In addition to her parents, Annella was preceded in death by her step father James F. Murphy And four brothers John J. Camp, William R. Camp, Lynn W. Camp Jr and George F. Camp Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M.Friday in St. Joseph’s Church with Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor, Presiding.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
