Clarence E. Embleton, 81, of Newport News, Virginia, formerly of Oil City, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully and entered into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.

Clarence was born on November 21, 1932, the son of Clarence and Edna (Say) Embleton of Oil City, Pennsylvania. He was married for 54 years to his devoted spouse, Dolores, who pre-deceased him in August 2013, and the remainder of his life journey was not the same without her. Throughout his life, Clarence was a faithful loving husband and father, a dedicated worker, and loved playing cards and board games.

He was retired from Continental Can Company where, except for his service in the Army during the Korean War, he began on the loading dock and worked his way up to become Plant Manager during a 37-year career. A resident of Newport News, he attended Northside Christian Church, from whom he received such wonderful support and encouragement. Clarence enjoyed the fellowship of close friends and his family will always be grateful for the sacrificial love shown to him, particularly by his Sunday morning classmates. His gentle manner and quiet perseverance will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Clarence is survived by a daughter and son and two grandchildren. They are Scott & Karen Embleton and their daughters Evan and Alyssa of Newport News, Virginia, and Rick & Debbie (Embleton) Johnson of Yorktown, Virginia.
