Alice Mae Sollinger

Alice Mae Sollinger, 73, of Cranberry passed away Tuesday January 21 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie.

Born January 5, 1941 in Shippenville, she was the daughter of John and Sarah Blair. Alice worked at Friendly Tavern in Knox and was a member of the Clarion Moose and the Berlin Bowser American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed spending time with her close friends Pearl Stover, Maxine Simpson and Richard Golden and especially loved her dog Poo Poo. On September 3, 1960 Alice married Everette Sollinger who
preceded her in death in 2007.

Alice is survived by four children Donna Bechtel and her husband Jim of Cranberry, John Sollinger and his wife Julie of Cranberry, E. Merle Sollinger of Cranberry, Robert Sollinger and his wife Elly of Oil City, six grand children David, Wendy, Joseph, Daniel, Randy, Heather, a sister in law Doris Blair of Clarion, and several aunts and uncles.

Along with her husband and parents Alice was preceded in death by two brothers David Blair and Carl Blair and a nephew Gerald Blair.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday and from 10 to 11 am Saturday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc, 504 East Penn Ave, Knox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Emlenton Cemetery.
