Sgt. Terry Kevin Burns

Sgt. Terry Kevin Burns, who proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, went to join his Heavenly Father, passing away of natural causes at his home on February 2, 2014.

Terry was born on November 4, 1980 in Clarion, the son of Terry Edward Burns and Michele Schilling. After he obtained his GED, Terry proudly announced to his family that he had enlisted in the United States Army. He was honored to have served 4 1/2 tours in Iraq.

Terry was an avid dog lover who lived for his two dogs Angel and Stubby Jo, enjoyed WWE wrestling, following the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Penguins, spending time with his best friend Kyle Fye and with his family.

Terry is survived by his three sons, Adrian Burns, Andre Burns and Matthew J. Rush; his mother, Michele Lyn “Mitch” Schilling of Strattanville; his father, Terry Edward Burns and his wife Dawn of Shippenville; his paternal grandmother, Gloria Joyce Burns; his brother, Alex Burns and his wife Jessica; his sister, Kelly Watterson and her husband Mark; his brother, Phillip McBride and his wife Teresa; his sister, Jennifer Rupp and her husband Josh; 15 nieces and nephews, Brandon Love and his wife Olivia, Alisha Butterbaugh, James Butterbaugh, Ryan Burns, Alyssa Clover, Katelyn Clover, Daniel Clover, Colbin Watterson, Loraine McBride, Leah McBride, Taylor Rupp, Madolyn Rupp, Nissa Watterson, Alissa Watterson; a great-niece, Kimberli Pinson; his godfather, Kevin Bussey; his godmother and aunt, Sue Gordon; his aunt Shawnie Novak and husband David; his aunt Judy Roberts and husband Richard; his aunt Vicki Romine and her husband Ralph; and his uncle Richard Burns and his wife Edith.

Terry was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward Clyde Burns; his maternal grandparents, Eugene Charles and Margret Katherine Schilling; his paternal grandmother, Charlotte Gene Morrison; and his uncles, Frank Riddle and William Gordon.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, Clarion. Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Thursday, February 6 at Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the church with Rev. Jake Jacobson officiating. Full military honor will be accorded at that time by the Honor Guard of American Legion Post 66 of Clarion.
