Rosalie Helen Ruby Myers

Rosalie Helen Ruby Myers, 72, of Decatur, GA, died of complications stemming from Pulmonary Fibrosis and Heart Disease on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, in DeKalb Medical Center Intensive Care Unit, Decatur, GA.

Rosalie was born on December 30, 1941, a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary June Ruby. Rosalie graduated from Franklin Area High School in 1959 and lived in Utica, PA, Cochranton, PA and Meadville, PA prior to moving to Decatur, GA.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by K-Mart in Meadville, PA and worked as a cashier and merchandise stocker.

Rosalie was a member of Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur, GA. In addition to her parents, Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Myers, her son, Donald G. Myers and her sister, Kathleen Ruby.

Rosalie is survived by three children, David M. and his wife MaryAnn of Meadville, PA, Steven J. and his partner Martin Rubay of Decatur, GA and Elizabeth A. (Myers) Peterson of Lawrenceville, GA; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Jason and Kimberly Myers all of Meadville, PA and Ashleigh, Alexis and Anthony Peterson-Myers all of Lawrenceville, GA; two great grandchildren, Alexander of Meadville, PA and Chase of Lawrenceville, GA; seven siblings Barbara Ruby of Douglasville, PA, Joseph Ruby of Manassas, VA, Marjorie Ruby Hansen of Larkspur, CO, Mary Ann Ruby Ott of Benson, NC, George Ruby of Utica, PA, Madeline Ruby Kopta of Hadley, PA and Deborah Ruby Simcock of Warren OH and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews scattered throughout the United States.

Friends and family were received at A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur, GA on Friday, February 14, 2014 and a funeral mass was held at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur, GA on Saturday, February 15, 2014 presided over by Monsignor Paul Fogarty.

Rosalie’s body is being transported back to PA for eventual burial; family and friends will be received at Dickson’s Funeral Home in Cochranton, PA on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm until 9:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Cochranton, PA on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM.

Interment will be in Saint Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Pettis, PA. A dinner and reception will occur at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church after the funeral service.
