Leroy E. Meehan, 65, of Rouseville died early Monday Morning March 3, 2014 at his home following an extended illness.
Born Nov. 23, 1948 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late Austin E. Meehan & Lillian Proper Meehan.
Leroy graduated in 1966 from Oil City High School, and then served his country as a machine repairman (E-5) in the U.S. Navy from April 29, 1968 to April 28, 1972 serving during the Vietnam War.
Leroy had received the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He then worked as a machinist for Oilwell, Trico Industry, Zurns and for Unimold of SMS until illness forced him to retire in 2006.
Leroy was of the Catholic Faith.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on vehicles.
Leroy was formerly married to the former Judith Frantz.
He is survived by three sisters, Sarah & Dave Moon of Meadville, Linda Meehan of Oil City, Catherine & Richard Hargenrader of Texas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Renee Moon & Raquel Moon of Meadville, Jason & Christy Hargenrader & their daughter Grace of Australia, Candace & Brian Nolte of Texas, Three Grandchildren, Kaitlin, Austin and Conner of Oil City, Special friends, Jessica & Jim Lutz, Wendy Daly, Dave Stover and Robert Myers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Gregory Meehan.
Their will be no viewing or visitation.
Private interment will take place in Grove Hill Cemetery.
