Jerry L. Oliphant

Jerry L. Oliphant, 62, of Kennerdell, passed away at home March 7, 2014 after an extended illness.

Born July 30, 1951, in Grove City he was the son of Raymond H. Oliphant and Marian Jean Say Oliphant, she survives. Jerry graduated from AC-Valley in 1969, he enlisted into the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Rickittes during Vietnam. Jerry was married to Laurie Oliphant on August 5, 1989, she survives. Jerry retired from Witherup Fabrication and Erection in Kennerdell as a welder. He was member of the Boiler Makers Local 159. Jerry was a very caring and kind man, he loved to help others and having cook outs. He and his wife both enjoyed their farm and all the task that go along with it, especially hay season.

His grandchildren brought him much joy. He also was a skilled in wood working. Surviving in addition to his mother Jean Oliphant of Kennerdell and his wife Laurie Oliphant of Kennerdell are his children, Stacy McPherson of Cleveland Ohio, Kris Oliphant of Texas, Kelly Begal of Texas and Sarha Boston of New Willington PA. A sister Karen Lappin and her husband Gary of MI, a brother James R. Oliphant and his wife Barb of Kennerdell. His grandchildren Korrin and Katlin Harvey, Kammile Begal, Colten Hale, Wyatt Begal and Tye Begal.

A memorial service will take place, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at East Unity Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am with the Rev. Bobbie Nelson officiating from the Kennerdell Church of God. The family strongly suggests in lieu of flowers memorial be sent to the Kirtland Cancer Fund, Box 108, Franklin PA 16323 The Larry E.
