donna-frost-obituaryDonna M. Frost, 79, of Rouseville, died Saturday March 8, 2014, in Oil City.

She was born January 14, 1935, in Guilfoyle, PA, a daughter of the late Howard C. and Mabel G. Murray Olson.

She married the love of her life, R. Bruce Frost, on November 27, 1954.

Donna was a homemaker and was active at the Rouseville United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees and boards. She also played piano for services and taught Sunday school. Donna was a member and a past Worthy Matron of the Morris Chapter OES.

Donna enjoyed being a teacher’s aide for several years at Rouseville Elementary School until it’s closing.

She loved cooking, baking, and was well known as a wonderful pie maker. Her great grandchildren affectionately knew her as “Gramma Cookie”. Time spent with her family was one of her greatest joys, especially vacations, camping trips, and gathered around the piano.

Surviving are her husband; 4 children and their spouses, Kirk and Judy Frost of Oil City, Steve and Susan Frost of Lansdale, Nancy and Ray Swacha, of Reno, and Scott and Sharon Frost of Oil City; her 10 grandchildren, Emily (Matt) Costigan, Brad (Melissa) and Ian Frost, Kevin and Katharine Frost, Benjamin (Kara) and Nathan (Alayna) Swacha, and Zachary, Zoe and Zanya Frost; her 3 step-grandchildren Lauren, Tyler and Brandon Burkhardt; and her 6 great-grandchildren, Amelia, Daman, and Olson Swacha, and Audrey, Olivia, and Isabel Costigan.

Also surviving are a brother, James Olson, and a sister, Rita (Pete) Beichner.

Donna played an active role in helping raise “the three Z’s” following the death of their mother, Florence “Flo” Frost, her daughter-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Mary Jane.

Arrangements are under the care of the Morrison Funeral Home, 110 Petroleum St, Oil City.

Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 am.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 am, with the Rev. Gale Boocks, officiating.

Interment will be in Frost Cemetery, Pigeon, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the donor’s choice location.
