Eleanor M. Brzuz Fidorek

Eleanor M. Brzuz Fidorek, 88, of 617 Mitchell Ave. Oil City, PA. died at 5:40 A.M. Wednesday April 9, 2014.

Born Sept. 17, 1925 in West Hickory, PA., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence W. Cherry & Orpha M. Whitten Cherry.

Mrs. Fidorek was a graduate of Oil City High School.

Eleanor was married on Dec. 26, 1955 to Joseph S. Brzuz and he passed away on Dec. 2, 1979.

She later married John Fidorek on Oct. 1, 1983 and he soon passed on Feb. 22, 1984.

She had worked at the family grocery store, Joe’s Superior Market, which was known for their Polish kielbasa for many years and later was a RSA at Polk Center.

Eleanor was a member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church, and the Church Rosary Society.

She enjoyed traveling, reading , knitting, painting and playing Bingo.

Mrs. Fidorek was a member of the Pulaski Club and a former member of the Sweet Adelines.

Eleanor was a devoted mother, grandmother & great grandmother and most enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Bajorek of Franklin, Two granddaughters Tessa Miller & her husband Matthew of Oil City, Tami Bowman & her husband James of York, PA; Three great- granddaughters, Sydney & Kendall Miller and Elizabeth Bowman; Three sisters, Rita Toy & her husband Robert of Oil City, Ruth Morrow of Sandy Lake, Janet Irwin of Chicago; And many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son –in –law Robert V. Bajorek, Two sisters, Lois Cherry and Shirley Scott; And a brother Telmar Cherry.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 P.M. Friday in the Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in the Assumption Church with Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor, Presiding.

Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.
