Rhetta A. Cummins, 62, of 132 Time Machine Lane, Franklin, PA. died at 4:45 P.M. Thursday July 25, 2013 at the home of her son in Rocky Grove after an extended illness.
Born July 27, 1950, she was the daughter of Rex & Larue Bennett Smith.
Rhetta was a graduate of Franklin High School and received her nursing degree from Clarion University.
She had worked for the Augusta Medical Center, Beverly Healthcare, and for the Franklin and Clarion Hospitals.
On Oct. 7, 1989, she was married in the Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City to Joseph G. Cummins and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2010.
Rhetta was a member of the PNA Club of Oil City and the Franklin Elks, Eagles and Moose. She enjoyed being with her family, especially with the grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and the companionship of her dog COCO.
She is survived by two sons, Greg Long & his wife Tina of Rocky Grove, Shayne Long & his wife Heather of Cooperstown; four grandchildren Donald, Cody, Garrett, and Isaiah; three step children, Mark & Cheryl Cummins of Dillsburg, Amy & Dave Garbacz of Mars, Lori & Terry Rhinehart of York.
She is also survived by a brother Lyle Smith of Carlton, and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Reggy Smith.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday July 29, 2013. at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel in St. Catherine’s Cemetery (12231 State Highway in Titusville, PA.
Rev. Mark Rusnak, Ascera Care Chaplain will preside.
