John R. Rupert, Jr., 81, of Seneca, died at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in the Clarion Hospital.
He was born in Oil City on October 1, 1932, to the late John Reuben and Wealtha Smoyer Rupert.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.
John enjoyed the companionship of his pet dog.
Mr. Rupert was employed by the Pennzoil Refinery in Rouseville for over forty years.
He married Patricia M. Paup on June 9, 1962, and they were married almost 52 years.
At the time of Mr. Rupert’s death, he was survived by his wife, Patricia. Also surviving is a sister, Evelyn (Rupert) Heath of Rock Hill, S. Carolina; a brother, Dr. David A. Rupert and his wife Lois of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul H. Rupert and Glenn A. Rupert.
A memorial service to celebrate John and Patricia’s lives will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday (April 26th) at the Faith Lutheran Church, 1759 County Line Road in Venus, with the Rev. John Wood, church pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Venus Cemetery.
