Donald Wayne Lesko

Donald Wayne Lesko, 63, of Franklin, formerly of Canonsburg, died Monday, June 2, 2014 in his home.

He was born November 8, 1950, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Joseph and Frances Slesinski Lesko.

Donald was Catholic.

Prior to his retirement he was self employed and did auto body and mechanic work.

Donald loved antique cars, swimming, fishing, and especially his Jack Russell Terrier, Scruby.

Surviving are his son, Jesse Lesko, and his wife Amber, of Jacksonville, AR; daughter, Christa Lesko, and her fiance David Houck, of Lake Zurich, IL; sister, Bernadette Pickens, and her husband Lee, of Bridgeville; his former spouse, Vicki Tate; and two nephews, Lee Pickens III, and Daniel Pickens.

Friends will be received Friday from 10-11:30am at the Sollon Funeral Home, Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director.

Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home, Friday at 11:30am, followed by a mass of Christian burial in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg, at noon.

Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.

Nancy Joan Greenlee

Nancy Joan Greenlee, 80, of Hudson, Ohio, formerly of Franklin, Pennsylvania, died June 3, 2014, in Hudson, Ohio.

Born June 29, 1933, in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Mark Donald Brown and Cecelia Eleanor Moffit Brown.

She was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School. She married Harold Eugene Greenlee on July 11, 1953, at First United Methodist Church in Franklin.

In 1955, she graduated from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, where she majored in Business Education.

She taught in the business education department at New Wilmington High School for one year. She taught at Robinson Elementary School in the Fort LeBoeuf School District outside Erie, Pennsylvania, for almost 29 years.

In 1990, she retired and moved to Lakeland, Florida. She served as an elder and Clerk of Session of the Presbyterian Church of the Highlands, Lakeland, Florida. She played with the hand bell choir and taught adult Sunday school. She returned to Franklin in 2009, where she attended Christ United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed square dancing, garage-saling, gardening, and reading, and she participated in several mission trips to Africa and Central America. She moved to the Cleveland area after a stroke in 2011.

Surviving are her three children, Mark B. Greenlee and wife Valerie of Shaker Heights OH, Scott S. Greenlee and wife Suzanne of Norwalk CT, and Shawn E. Greenlee and wife Vedrana Hrsak of Providence RI; five grandchildren, Sarah Okuh and husband Obie of Cleveland Heights OH, Justin Greenlee and wife Jessie of Tuscaloosa AL, Erin Smalley and husband Zac of Durango TX, Jordan Greenlee of Norwalk CT, and Ryan Greenlee of Norwalk CT; and one great grandchild, Tessa Okuh.

Mrs. Greenlee was preceded in death by her husband.

Family and friends welcome Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 W. Park St., Franklin.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, at Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo Street, Franklin.

Interment will be at Franklin Cemetery.

Nila D. Minich

Nila D. Minich, 88 formerly New Bethlehem, died on Tuesday evening, June 3, at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo.

She was born on September 23, 1925 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Yount) Blake. She was married on February 27, 1945 to Walter Leo Minich and he preceded her in death on April 26, 2008.

She is survived by five sons; Dennis L. Minich and wife Janice of Cranberry, Donald L. Minich and wife Marlene of Baltimore, Maryland, Marvin D. Minich and wife Darla of Mayport, Melvin G. Minich and wife Connie of Mayport and David R. Minich and wife Gloria of Mayport, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, a sister, Clara B. Downs of Brookville and a brother, Melvin Blake and wife Rochelle of New Bethlehem.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nila was also preceded in death by a baby boy and a sister, Lomia Wells

Visitation will be on Friday, June 6, from 9 – 11 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.

Kyle A. Jaillet

Kyle A. Jaillet passed away at 9:28 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, due to injuries he received in an ATV accident in Mingo County, W.Va. He was 27.

Born March 2, 1987, in Greenville, Mr. Jaillet was a son of Brian L. and Sharon M. Kaylor Jaillet.

He was a 2005 graduate of Lakeview High School and Mercer County Career Center’s diesel mechanics program.

Following high school, Kyle’s first job was for two years with Tri-County Industries, Grove City. He was currently working as a field supervisor and installer for Imperial Systems of Jackson Center.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Kyle loved the outdoors. A former Boy Scout, he loved going camping, fishing and hunting. He loved spending time on the water in his boat and was an avid water-skier and knee-boarder.

Most of all, Kyle was a “red” tractor enthusiast and was most proud of his red sweatshirt stating “If It’s Not Red Leave It In The Shed.” He was building a red Massey-Harris V-8 pulling tractor. He had been a member of the Mercer County Antique Power Association.

With a contagious smile and kind heart, Kyle was always full of life and loved his family and friends. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle and will be forever missed by all those he knew.

He leaves behind: his girlfriend, Samantha Bell, Grove City; his mother, Sharon Stalker and her husband Robert, Sandy Lake; his father, Brian Jaillet, Mercer; two sisters, Angela Jaillet-Wentling and her husband Richard, Fort Rucker, Ala.; and Stephanie Graham and her companion Jeff Schmid, Pittsburgh; maternal grandparents, John and Doris Kaylor, Stoneboro; paternal grandmother, L. Grace Hileman, Mercer; and a special nephew, Aiden Wentling, Fort Rucker.

He will also be missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Luther Jaillet.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Youth Programs, New Lebanon Community Church, 4166 Mercer St., Sandy Lake, PA 16145; or Mercer County Antique Power Association, Box 141, Mercer, PA 16137.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (6-11-14) in SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.

The Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (6-12-14) in New Lebanon Community Church with the Rev. Virginia LaVan Gadsby, associate pastor, officiating.

His cremains will be interred overlooking Lake Wilhelm in Fairfield Cemetery, New Vernon Township, and also at the Jaillet farm in Mercer.

Jane E. Winger

Jane E. Winger, 79, of 141 River St. Oil City, PA. died at 9:15 A.M. Tuesday June 10, 2014 at her home following a brief illness.

Born April 12, 1935 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Charles & Rosella Sharp Rhodes.

Jane attended Franklin Schools.

On May 23, 1953 she married Paul W. Winger Jr. in St. Patrick’s Church in Franklin and he survives.

A homemaker, Jane raised 11 children. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She always enjoyed a good game of cards or just reading a good book.

Mrs. Winger was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church.

In addition to her husband of over 60 years, she is survived by ten children and their spouses:

She was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Winger,

a grandson Paul Winger IV,
and a sister Barbara Hazlett.

A private Family Viewing will be held at the convenience of the family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 P.M. Thursday June 12 in Our Lady Help of Christians Church with Fr. Shane Mathew, Pastor, Presiding.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Keith Rayburn “Red” Goheen

Keith Rayburn “Red” Goheen, of Rehoboth Road, Strattanville, passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2014. He was 85 years old.

Born on September 4, 1928 in South Bethlehem, Armstrong County, he was the son of the late John Edward and Margaret Elizabeth (Pence) Goheen. He attended the Strattanville School. Red enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and was discharged after 4 years of service.

On November 26, 1952, he married Roma Fay Leadbetter. They were married for 56 years before she preceded him in death on April 23, 2009.

Red was employed as a mechanic for many years with Hanley Brick in Summerville. He enjoyed the outdoors, working on lawn mowers, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Strattanville Post 249 of the American Legion for 57 years.

Red is survived by his daughters, Sheila Thompson and her husband William, and Sharla Blake and her husband Robert; his grandchildren, Rebecca Coull and her husband John, Amy Ball and her husband Caleb, Kelsey Thompson and Amanda Blake and her partner Colby Shearer; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jesica, and Gabe. Red is also survived by his brothers, Paul and his wife Dorian, and William “Jiggs” and his wife Carol; his sisters, Leona Beers and her husband Henry, Donna Beary, and Carol Amsler and her husband Don.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Red was preceded in death by his daughters, Shawna Servey and Sharman Mary Goheen; sisters Helen Bauer, Marcella Goheen; and his brother Edward “Shang” Goheen.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, Clarion where visitation will be held from1:00 until 2:00pm on Thursday, June 12, to be followed by funeral services at 2:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. James Dietrich, pastor of New Rehoboth – Greenville Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the New Rehoboth Cemetery.

Sheena Leighann Blanchard Potter, 31, of 216 Imperial St, Oil City died June 8, 2014.

Born August 25, 1982 in Titusville, PA, she was a daughter of John Blanchard and Sandra D. Francis.

Sheena had obtained an Associates Degree in Medical Assistance

She was employed by Cinderella’s Janitorial Services as a supervisor/cleaner.

Sheena attended Calvary Temple Church in Oil City where she was dedicated and had attended her entire life. She liked to read, enjoyed camping and canoeing and activities with her children. She also had 12 cats.

She was married to Steven Potter, who survives.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her children, Aidan Potter, Matthew Gregory, Enya Potter and Azaria Gregory, all of Oil City.

Also surviving is a sister, Sharon Blanchard of Oil City; four aunts, eight uncles and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Aubrey and Bessie Francis and Robert and Mary Blanchard.

Friends may call from 4 to 5 pm Thursday at Calvary Temple Church, 14 Harriott Ave, Oil City. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Temple Church at 5 pm on Thursday with Rev. Rudy Rimer, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.

The Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Helen A. Archer ,82, of 919 ½ Grandview Rd. Oil City, PA. died Tuesday June 10, 2014 at her home following a period of declining health.

Born in Reno, PA, on May 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Arnold G. French & Mable L. Miller French.

Helen was married on April 1, 1950 to Lawrence A. Archer and he preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 1988.

Helen had been employed for many years at Kessler’s Dry Cleaning in Oil City.

She was a member of St. Titus Church.

She enjoyed being involved in church activities, and doing crafts, but most enjoyed her time spent with her grandson and his daughter.

She is survived by one daughter: Carol Bennett & her husband Daniel of Oil City, her grandson Mark Bennett & his wife Christy of Emporium, her great granddaughter Emma Bennett of Emporium, special friends Jill Flinchbaugh and Sherry Switzer, and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Stiller

Their will be no viewing or visitation.

A Committal Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday in the Chapel at Calvary Cemetery with Fr. Justin P. Pino, Presiding.

Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice Foundation.

Dorothy Mae Bloomster Lawson, 79, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2013, in her home in Sullivan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 13, at Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14. A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Titusville, PA. The Revs. Ronald Hipwell, Brad Bloomster, Donald Bloomster and Jeffrey Childs will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Titusville.

Mrs. Lawson was born on June 27, 1934, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, to Jesse E. and Margaret G. (Ross) Bloomster. On August 18, 1957, she married Richard William Lawson in Clarion, PA. He, her parents, and many dear relatives preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughters Becky Lawson of Sullivan, IL; Kris Lawson of Onalaska, WI; and Pam (Doug) Moore of Sheridan, WY. Also surviving are her sister Mrs. Doralyn Johnson of Erie, PA; her brother Rev. Donald (Shirley) Bloomster of Marienville, PA; aunt Mrs. Louise Childs of Titusville, PA; niece Bonnie (Ron) Hipwell of Titusville, PA; nephews Brad (Jeanne) Bloomster of Canfield, Ohio; Brent (Carmen) Bloomster of Pickerington, OH, and Bruce (Jennifer) Bloomster of Erie, PA; cousins Jane (Virgil) Flick, Jack (Nancy) Williams, James (Maria) Williams, Nancy (Don) Mowrey, Rev. Jeff (Robin) Childs, and Linda (Sam) McKissick and several others; numerous great nieces and nephews; and longtime friends Regina and Bill Isom and Pat and Roy Meyerholtz and many other friends of Charleston. She is also survived by her beloved dogs: Buddy, Rudy, Daisy, Bianca, and Babe Lawson.

Mrs. Lawson, a dedicated educator, graduated from Clarion High School in 1952. She later obtained a Bachelor’s in Education from Clarion University and also received a Master’s Degree and a Specialist’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University. She started her career as an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania and taught in numerous schools, including the Buzzard Laboratory School at Eastern Illinois University. She worked closely with the Illinois State Board of Education for many years and was deeply involved in career education efforts at the state and national levels. She retired from EIU in June of 2000 as the Grant Manager for the College of Education.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Charleston, IL, and she also attended the First Methodist Church in Sullivan, IL, after moving to Sullivan to live with her daughter. She was also a longtime member of the Charleston Woman’s Club and was involved with the Girl Scouts and Job’s Daughters while her daughters were young. She also belonged to many professional and educational organizations.

Mrs. Lawson loved playing with her dogs, playing the piano, singing, antiquing, watching birds, gardening, traveling, and teaching. She also had a sweet tooth and loved getting deliveries of Marble Slab ice cream from many kind people in Sullivan. Additionally, she loved eating at the Red Apple and enjoyed the special care given to her by the owners and waitresses. She also enjoyed supporting the students of Sullivan High School, especially members of Mirror Images, Shakespeare Showcase, the SHS Signal, and her daughter Becky’s Book Clubs. Dorothy was a caring and loving mother who took care of her girls her entire life and always had an interest and love for the children in her life. She was known as a generous and curious person.

A three-time cancer survivor, Mrs. Lawson fought a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Her caregivers included Mrs. Peggy Bonilla, Mrs. Tiffany Yokley, Mrs. Dawn Elder, Ms. Lori Davis, and many of her daughter Becky’s former students, especially Catey Richardson, Avery Allen, Annie Hedger, Heather Clements, Nicole Yoder, and Heather Newman, and Hannah, Shelby and Amber Cole. Caden Elzy, Mike Puyear and Cody Minor were also special helpers. She also enjoyed being an adopted family member of many of her daughter Becky’s co-workers and former students and their families.

Her family would especially like to thank Carle Hospice for their exceptional care, the First United Methodist Church for their support (especially the delivered meals), and the members of the Sullivan Fire Department for their kind and gentle care on the many, many visits they made to the Lawson household to help take care of Dorothy.

The family would like to thank all of their friends, family, and co-workers for their help, love, and support.

William Edward Holmes

William Edward Holmes, age 80 died Saturday at his home in Gainesville.

He was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania to Theodore and Marcine Ausel Holmes. They preceded him in death. Mr. Holmes has lived in Gainesville since 1950 taking a job with the Univ. of Florida Administrative Computer Center and worked there about 38 years, before retiring He was an avid Gator and Steelers Fan and was an avid hunter.

Mr. Holmes is survived by his Wife, Dorothy Lou “Dottie” Riley Holmes of Gainesville, his daughter Valrie Holmes of Gainesville, FL, his son, Tommy Holmes (Danielle Marie) of Palm Bay, FL., sister Nancy Jean Riggle of Junction, WI. Duane W. Gross , 83, of Rimersburg died on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Clarion Hospital.

He was born on October 25, 1930 in Clearfield, a son of the late Paul E. and Mary E. (Barton) Gross.

Mr. Gross retired from the PA Game Commission as the Northwest Land Management Supervisor, based in Franklin.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, He served during Korean Conflict.

He is survived by three children, Richard Gross and wife Carolyn of Parker, Ronald Gross and wife Lori of Stony Creek, VA and Elaina Carty and husband Michael of Fairfield; nine grandchildren; two great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Huss; and two brothers, Kenneth B. Gross and Glenn E. Gross.

Funeral services will be held at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield on Friday at 1:00 pm with Rev. J. Robert Mellgard officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Beverly J. Hanna, 87, a resident of 324 Wiley Ave., Rocky Grove died peacefully at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014, in The Caring Place of Franklin, following a period of declining health.

She was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Franklin, a beloved daughter of the late Winfield and Viola Griffin McFarland.

She was a 1944 graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

For more than 15 years, she was employed as a secretary at Venango Newspapers in Oil City.

Mrs. Hanna was a lifelong active and faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church of Rocky Grove. She was involved with the music program at the church and had also sung in the church choir for many years.

She enjoyed staying active. She was a longtime member of the Franklin Jmtior Women’s Club where she had served as the club’s president. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

Mrs. Hanna had worked for a number of years in the library of the Rocky Grove High School.

Mrs. Hanna was perhaps most well-known throughout the area for her much sought after wedding cakes which she would bake and decorate for many a bride and groom’s special day.

She enjoyed sharing quality time with her family, especially the time she was able to share with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She will be greatJy missed by her loving dog, Skye.

She was married July 19, 1945, to Earl E. Hanna, who preceded her in death Feb, 19, 2002.

She is survived by her children: Cheri L. Law of Boyertown, Rhendy S. Midage and her husband, Gary, of Rocky Grove, Kimberly J. Harma of Camp Hill and Earl C. “Curt” Hanna and his wife, Van, of McKeesport. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Autumn, Dara and Blake Saville, Luke and Zachary Mitchell, Erica Casper, Robert Hanna and Emily, Madison and Earl “Alex” Hanna; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friend, Albert Walters and his daughters, Susan and Sally.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, James W. Law.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, in the Grace United Methodist Church of Rocky Grove, 350 Front St. Franklin.

The memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, in the church, with the Reverend Ed Gresick, pastor, officiating.

Interment in Franklin Cemetery shall be private. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed in her name to the Grace Uni ted Methodist Church of Rocky Grove. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk St. Franklin.

Martha Ann Dessell Babb

Martha Ann Dessell Babb, 81, of Cranberry passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 13, 2014 surrounded by her family.

Born June 3, 1933, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Roy and Helen Bradley Dessell. On June 12, 1954 Martha married Richard Babb with whom she celebrated over 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2007. Martha was a loving mother and grandmother and caregiver to her husband until his passing.

She enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers and enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and water aerobics at the YMCA.

Martha is survived by six children Robert Babb and his wife Sylvia of Pittsburgh, Jeffrey Babb and his wife Vicki of Cranberry, Sally Dwyer and her husband David of Coatsville, Gary Babb and his wife Darla of Canfield OH, Marcie Wallace and her husband Brian of Pittsburgh, and Matthew Babb and his wife Jen of Easton CT. Also surviving are nine grandchildren Mark Babb, Ben Babb and his wife
Leah, Ian Babb, Sarah Kulling and her husband Daniel, Daniel Dwyer, Joshua Dwyer, Helen Dwyer, Emily Wallace and Scott Wallace, and a sister Sally Love.

Along with her parents and husband Martha was preceded in death by a brother Dale Dessell and a brother in law David Love.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Faith Lutheran Church, 1759 County Line Road, Venus. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church with the Rev. John Wood officiating. Interment will follow at St. Marks Cemetery in Kossuth. The McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, 504 East Penn Ave., Knox is in charge of arrangements.

Irene E. Goodman, 83, of 8982 Rt. 68 Rimersburg died at 7:30 AM Saturday June 14, 2014 at Clarion Hospital.

Born in the village of Hogback,Armstrong Co. April 23, 1931, she was the daughter of Charles and Juliana Kristes Phillips.

Irene was married September 11, 1948 to Jack Goodman who died June 13, 1982. She was a homemaker and when she was younger she worked several years at the former Davis Cookie Co. in Rimersburg. Irene was a Catholic.

She enjoyed traveling, casino trips, time with her family, and when she was younger hunting with her late husband.

Irene is survived by 2 daughters; Janie Griebel of Clarion and Gloria Lamont and her husband Skip of Karns City, a sister; Rose Hulihan of Erie, her son-in-law; Tim Kriebel of Sligo, 8 grand children, 16 greatgrandchildren, and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by daughters Jackie Kriebel and infant Mary, sisters Mary Gandolfi and Margie Bobberts, brothers John, Carl, and Steve Phillips, and one son in law Sam Griebel.

Irene’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday June 17, 2014 at the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg, 583 Main St.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Wednesday June 18, 2014 from St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Rimersburg with the Rev William Kuba, pastor, as the Celebrant. Frederick E. Kline Jr., 92, of Erie, formerly of Shippenville, died on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Pleasant Ridge Manor West in Girard.

Born on December 31, 1921 in Rimersburg; he was the son of Frederick E. Kline Sr. and Mary Rugh Kline.

A veteran, Frederick served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII.

He was married on January 14, 1942 to the former Margaret M. “Peggy” Nelson, and she preceded him in death on September 5, 2010.

Frederick worked as a supervisor for Eutectic Welding Corporation in Flushing, NY, where he retired.

He was a member of the Manor United Methodist Church in Shippenville.

Frederick was also a member of the Clarion Lodge #277 F & AM where he was Past Master, Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, Zem Zem Shrine of Erie, Clarion County Shrine Club, VFW Post #2145 of Clarion, American Legion Post 66 of Clarion, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 3807 of Clarion.

He enjoyed to golf and spending his summers working at the Hi-Level Golf Course in Kossuth. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Myrtle Beach.

Frederick is survived by a daughter, Paula Lojak of Girard; a granddaughter, Lori Horn of Girard; and three great granddaughters, Carrie Stoczynski and her husband, Tyler, of Cranberry Township, Allison Nolan of Girard, and Jamie Horn of Girard.

Also surviving is a brother, Dick E. Kline and his wife, Rosie, of Rimersburg; a special friend, Jason Schell of Springboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son-in-law, Jerry Lojak.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Masonic services will be held at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the funeral home by Masonic Lodge #277 of Clarion.

Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Jerry Belloit, United Methodist Pastor, officiating.

Roberta Jean Dunlap, 83, of Jupiter, Florida, formerly from Franklin, passed away at 4:31 p.m. Sunday, June 8th at The Manors at Hobe Sound, Florida.

Born October 19, 1930, in Franklin, Roberta was the daughter of the late William and Esther Heffernan Maul. She married Martin H. Dunlap, Sr. June 19, 1948, and he passed away in August 1994.

Mrs. Dunlap worked at Polk State School and Hospital for 25 years and retired from there in 1992. She was a member of the Pleasantville Free Methodist Church. For the past 15 years, she resided with her son, Donovan Dunlap, in Jupiter, Florida.

Mrs. Dunlap is survived by her five children, Martin H. Dunlap, Jr. of Olathe, Kansas, Barry L. Dunlap of Ocala, Florida, Gerald R. Dunlap of Hanover, Pennsylvania, Rebecca A. Ouillette of Rainier, Oregon, and Donovan C. Dunlap of Jupiter, Florida. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dunlap was preceded in death by her daughter, Michele K. Dunlap, who died in 1959; her two sisters; and her two brothers.

Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, June 17 from 9 ~ 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. following visitation. Interment will in Luper Chapel Cemetery.

Patty Ardell Sharp, 75, of Oil City, died at 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her home following a brief illness, surrounded by loving family.

She was born February 27, 1939 in Oil City to the late Ira and Alice (Lockhart) Dunkle.

She attended Cranberry Schools.

Mrs. Sharp was of the protestant faith.

Patty enjoyed going out to eat with her husband, traveling locally and taking drives simply to sight-see. She also enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was married in Pine City on March 3, 1954 to Hubert Winfield Sharp, and he survives.

Also surviving are two children, Beverly Beach and her husband John of Oil City; and William Sharp and his wife Heather of Oil City; six grandchildren, Tammy Bodien of Oil City, Karen Kapp and husband Ryan of Oil City, Sheila Howard and husband Jamie of Centerville, Faith Sharp and Billie Jo Sharp, both of Erie, and Steven Sharp of Oil City; great-grandchildren include: Ashley and Jessica Bodien, Zachary Proper, Makayla, Alyssa, and John Kapp, Sean and Sara Shook, Jamie and Kaylee Howard, Logan Dean and Tiger Hollingsworth, Anthony Williams, Jordan Oberg, and Joleena and Kayonya Gamble; and one great-great-grandchild, Aubree Colburn.

Also surviving is her brother, Richard Dunkle and wife Jane; four sisters, Violet Karns, Betty O’Neil and husband James, Shirley Boggs and husband Edger, and Ruth Ann Anderson and husband Larry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Dunkle; and two sisters, Rose M. Hutchinson and Mary Ann Welsh.

Friends will be received Monday (June 16) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Larry Rapp will officiate.

Entombment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.
