David G. Delavern

David G. Delavern, 54, of Emlenton, died Saturday, August 3, 2013, surrounded by family in his home.

Born September 19, 1958, in Erie PA, he was the son of the late Roy and Doris (Eakin) Delavern. Dave graduated from Technical Memorial High School in Erie and then worked for Pepsi in Erie for five years. He then moved to the Knox area where he worked for Gatesman’s Plumbing & Heating for 27 years. Dave loved spending time with his dog Brody, he had a kind heart and was always there to lend a helping hand. On June 8, 2009, Dave married Robin Whitling and she survives.

Along with his wife, Dave is survived by two sons, David Delavern Jr. of Lancaster OH, Steven Delavern and his wife Sharayah of Emlenton PA, two daughters Kari Heeter and her husband David of Brookville PA, Lisa Delavern and her fiancé Jason Chappel of Evans City PA and a step daughter Kayla Burkley and her husband Matthew of Anita PA. Also surviving are two grand children Wyatt Heeter of Brookville PA, Dominic Burkley of Anita PA, three sisters Connie Olszewski and her husband John of San Diego CA, Nancy Matson of San Diego CA, Bonnie Dye and her husband Tim of Kennerdell PA, and two brothers Bill Delavern and his wife Becky of Erie PA and James Delavern and his wife Regina of Erie PA.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. tomorrow at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc., Jonathan Weaver supervisor, 504 East Penn Ave., Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home with Rev. Ron Hunsberger officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Charitable Deeds in Knox, Pa.
