Catherine “Kay” Frances Graham, 95, of Brookville, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at McKinley Health Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1918, in Brookville, she was one of six daughters of Hugh F. Lynch and Dora (Kline) Lynch. Kay was the last surviving daughter.
On Jan. 17, 1941, she was married to Jacob Clair Graham Jr. He preceded her in death in August of 1992.
Kay was a beautician who owned and operated Kay’s Beauty Shop for over 40 years.
Her enjoyments were knitting, puzzles, cards, bowling league and she was an avid Bingo player.
She was dearly loved by her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters: Janice L. Lavely and husband Dr. Donald Lavely of Clarion, Barbara Mackins of Brookville and Kathleen Songer and husband Denny of Greensboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren: Dr. Dawn Martin, DVM, Dr. David Lavely and wife Tessie, James A. Lavely and wife Jacquie, Jay A. Lavely, Shane Mackins and wife Kelly, Mindy Mackins-Morton and husband John, Todd Henry and wife Tracey, and Shawna Wilson; 15 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Pat Fenton of State College and Carol Hoak of Brookville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, John Robert Graham; five sisters: Mary Dillon, Marguerite Lynch, Josephine Lynch, Gertrude Lynch and Elizabeth Swartz; and son in law, Joseph Mackins.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Brookville.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, celebrated by the Rev. Fr. William Laska.
Burial will be private at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brookville.
