H. Thomas Wice, 84, of 1557 Route 227 Oil City, Pa, died at 10:00 p.m. on Monday August 12, 2013, while working in his garage doing what he loved to do.
Born Oct. 26, 1928, in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late James A. Wice and Freda Hartzell Wice.
Tom attended Oil City Schools.
He was married on Sept. 20, 1950, in Kaneville to Janet Wright and she survives.
Tom was the owner/operator of the Wice Plumer Garage.
He enjoyed hunting, spending time at his garage, and going to flea markets and also enjoyed the company of his toy poodle, Molly.
Tom was a former State Forest Fire Warden and was a Lifetime member of the Cornplanter Fire Dept. and a Honorary member of the Rouseville Fire Dept.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Shirley and James Hughes of Slippery Rock, Pa., Thomas and Greta Wice of Dempseytown, Cindy and Theodore Karns of Oil City, Terry and Lisa Wice of Plumer.
He is also survived by the following grandchildren: Jim and Michelle Hughes of Albuquerque, NM, Marci and Steve Waleff of Hadley, Brian and Kayla Wice of Kaneville, Jackie Wice and her fiance Tatarjim Pumpukdee of Thailand, Jeffrey and Hind Karns of Abu Dhabi, Dana Wice and her fiancé Vincent Kilian of Dayton, OH, and Tara Wice and her fiancé Jared Drivere of Greenville; and the following great grandchildren: Noah and Elyse Hughes, Alexa, Lilly and Erica Waleff, Jaymee and Madilyn Wice, and Alexander Karns and Stella Drivere; and one brother Jim Wice and his wife Carol of Oil City; and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shelly Lynn Wice; three brothers, Russell, Norbert, and Clifford; and four sisters Melda, Hilda, Helen, and Edna.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 7-9 P.M. on Wednesday in the Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory.
Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Russell and Rev. Bruce Davis, Presiding.
