David C. Wall

David C. Wall, age 92, of New Bethlehem, passed away Tuesday evening, August 13, 2013 at his daughter’s residence in Home, Indiana County.

Born December 5, 1920 in Wayne Township, Armstrong County, he was a son of the late Henry F. and Laura Emma Himes Wall.

He was a self employed farmer and also worked as a saw operator for Crawford Furniture in Fairmount City until retiring.

David married the former B. Lillian Snyder on October 18, 1944. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2010.

He was a lifetime member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Wayne Township, Armstrong County and served on the church council and cemetery association.

David enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and traveling. He also liked listening to religious music and tending his fruit trees.

Survivors include two sons: Gregory D. Wall and his wife, Sylvia, of Apollo and Jeffrey A. Wall and his wife, Kim, of Winfield, Illinois; three daughters: Karen Slack and her husband, Bob, of Clarion; Joyce Wilshire and her husband, Terry, of Lucinda and Janet Wells and her husband, Tom, of Home.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren: Lugene, Angela, Heather, Shawn, Alisia, Nathan, Daniel, Tom Jr., Jennifer and Tanya; 13 great grandchildren and two sisters: Pauline Goodheart of Dayton and Irene Brocious of Kittanning.

In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson and Fred.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 232 Calhoun School Road, New Bethlehem, with the Messenger Ralph Kilgore, Jr. officiating over the service.

Interment will follow in the Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery.
