Flora B. Clingerman, 76, of Titusville died peacefully at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie following a short illness.
Mrs. Clingerman was born February 1, 1937 in Everett, PA a daughter of the late George Gordon and Alice Koontz Gordon. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1955.
Flora was formerly employed as a cook and bartender at the Rustic Inn of Hydetown for several years. More recently she was a cook at VFW Post 5958 in Titusville.
She was a member of American Legion Post 368 Auxiliary.
Flora enjoyed bowling, reading, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Richard E. (Dick) Clingerman of Titusville, whom she married July 9, 1960 in Cumberland, Maryland; two sons, Rick Clingerman and his wife Kathy and Bill Clingerman and his fiancee Christine Rugh, all of Titusville; a daughter Vicki Pennbrook of Bedford; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister Carolyn Harclerode and her husband Gerard of Cleona, PA; a brother David Duncan of McConnellsburg, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Arlene Barton and three brothers, William Gordon, David Gordon and John Gordon.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home, Inc., 203 E. Main St., Titusville. The family will receive relatives and friends after the visitation at the residence of Rick and Kathy Clingerman, 13307 Church Run Rd., Titusville. A memorial service will be conducted at a later time.
The family suggests that memorial contributions can be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
