Donald R. “ Hank” Siple, 71, of Green Rd. Brookville, Pa., passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013, at Pittsburgh Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born on February 12, 1942, in Reynoldsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Donald R. Siple and Marie H. Diehl Siple.
He married to Marsha A. Cable in Brookville, on November 4, 1967, who survives.
He was a US Veteran, US Navy during the Vietnam Era from 1959 to 1965, Radarman PO 3 USS Johnson.
He was employed by the Brookville Police Department from 1968 to 1996 as patrolman, corporal, and sergeant and last 4 yrs., 1992 – 1996, as Chief of Police and as a security officer at DRMC West Hospital Nov. from 1999 to November of 2012.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Northwest Chief of Police Assoc., and elder of Roseville Independent Chapel.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Michele D Bailey (Jeffrey) of Shippenville, Pa. and two sons, Mark D. Siple of Brookville, Pa., and Matthew D. Siple of Emporium, Pa.
He is also survived by a brother, Dennis L. (Butch) Siple (Dana) of Reynoldsville, Pa.; two sisters, Ruth C. (Penny) Sackash (Gene) of Sykesville, Pa., and Janet L. Camise (Tom) of Reynoldsville, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Michael Daryn Siple, William Donald Siple, Richard Donald Siple, all of Brookville, Autumn Elizabeth Siple and Ethan Andrew Siple of Statesboro Ga., and Dawnelle MarshaLynn Bailey of Shippenville, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday, September 9, and 9 to 11 on September 10, 2013, at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, Pa. 15825.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, at McKinney Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Fillhart presiding.
Interment will be at Emerickville Church of God Cemetery, in Pinecreek Twp., Jefferson Co., Pa.
