Lars Alic Nelson, age 71 of Franklin, passed away Friday afternoon, September 6, 2013 at the Clarion Hospital.
Born November 27, 1941 in Oil Creek Township, Venango County, he was a son of the late Ralph and Hazel Proctor Nelson.
He worked as a drill press operator for Joy Manufacturing and was a former member of the Erie Silent Club.
Lars was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh sports teams: Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.
Survivors include two sons: Harvey S. Nelson of Franklin and Lars A. Nelson and his wife, Kristin, of Corsica; One daughter: Rita L. Nelson Woodard of Knox; Four grandchildren: Anthony R. Woodard and his wife, Jessica; Nikki J. Woodard, Kylie R. Nelson and Kaden S. Nelson.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Lars is survived by two brothers and a sister: Arthur Nelson of Rouseville, Ronald Nelson of Pleasantville and Shirley Phelps of Lakeland, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister, Bruce Nelson and Jane Bedford.
In honoring Lars’ request, he will be cremated. There will be no calling hours.
