James L. Bemis, 53, of 104 W Front St, Oil City, died unexpectedly Monday, January 6, 2014, at his residence.
Born January 4, 1961 in Oil City, he was a son of the late Samuel L. and Dorothy Etzel Murray Bemis.
Jim worked delivering pizzas for a number of years, managed 2 pizza shops, and worked for Zambelli’s Fireworks for a period of time.
He was currently a Go Bus driver for the County of Venango.
Jim enjoyed WWE wrestling, NASCAR, fireworks, electronics and watching movies with his family.
On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1985, he married the former Caroline Sanford, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by three daughters, Andrea Bemis and Jerry Burrows and their children Natalie Jaymes, Rodney and Tyrome, all of Oil City, Katrina Rasmussen and husband Tim and their son, Tim III of New York, and Kylie Bemis and Nick Whitmore and their children, Corgan and Jack of Franklin; two brothers, Jack Murray and wife Aggie of Ohio, and Sam Bemis and wife Sadie of Oil City; and four sisters, Jeanie Murray of Florida, Karen Beach and husband Jerry of Florida, Debbie Griffin and husband Ronald of Oil City and Pam Hale of Oil City.
Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Darlene Hendrix and husband Scott of Missouri, Martha Stansbury and husband Jerry of Titusville, and Cathy Kahoutek and husband Joe of Georgia; three brothers-in-law, William Sanford and wife Marge of Oil City, Wesley Sanford and wife Ginger of Cranberry, Jay Bickel and wife Danielle of Oil City; and Sue Sanford, surviving wife of Jim’s father-in-law.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
The Morrison Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
