James R. Callihan

James R. Callihan, 80, of Lucinda, died Monday, January 6, 2014, at the UPMC Mercy Hospital.
Born September 6, 1933 in Helen Furnace; he was the son of Cecil C. and Mary Milliron Callihan.

He was married on June 14, 1954 to the former Monica Wagner, and she survives.

A veteran, James served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He worked in the coal industry, working at Zacherl Coal and Wagner Coal. He then retired from Colt Resources. After retirement, James worked at J & L Sporting Goods.

James was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree.

In addition to his wife, Monica, he is survived by two sons, Randolph W. Callihan and his wife, Jennifer, of Beijing, and William A. Callihan and his wife, Lori, of Lucinda; nine grandchildren, Devin,

Donavan, Cory, Eileen, Erin, Clayton, Kathleen, Myles, and Brigid; and seven great grandchildren.

Also surviving are six siblings, Evelyn McClain and her husband, Richard, of Butler, Carol Smith and her husband, Archie, of Limestone, Paul Callihan and his wife, Natalie, of California, Beverly Hess and her husband, Robert, of Florida, Larry Callihan of Greenville, and Darlene Callihan of Helen Furnace.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant children, Brenda, John, and Eileen; five siblings, Eugene Callihan, Donald Callihan, Janice Wrobleski, Danny Callihan, and Elaine Callihan; and a granddaughter, Maeve.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Christian wake service will be held at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014, in the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lucinda, with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, presiding.

Interment will be held at the St. Joseph Church Cemetery in Lucinda.
