Arthur P. Love, age 93, of Sligo, died Monday afternoon, July 15, 2013 at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo.
Born June 27, 1920 in Callensburg, he was a son of the late John Reed Love and Beulah Stoner Love.
He was World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Army Air Corp.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad then for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier.
Arthur married the former Zelda Clouse. She preceded him in death on August 5, 2003.
He was a member of Canby Masonic Lodge # 520 of St. Petersburg and the Sligo Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid hunter, arrowhead collector and poker player.
He had previously attended the Sligo Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Marjorie Wise and her husband, James H. Wise, of Knox and his granddaughter, Julie Wise-Brouckaert and her husband, Graham, of Washington, DC.
In addition to his parents and wife, Arthur was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Ralph and sisters, Grace and Elnora.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, July 18, 2013, in the funeral home with Reverend Chris Lewis officiating.
Interment will follow in the Callensburg Cemetery.
