Marilyn E. Peterson

Marilyn E. Peterson, 68, of Oil City, formerly of Rockland, died unexpectedly at 10:06 p.m. Tuesday , July 16, 2013 shortly after her arrival to the emergency room at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born in Rockland on November 27, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Iva Confer Beach.

Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker and enjoyed going fishing and spending time with her family.

She was married on May 20, 1967 to David L. Peterson, and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1995.

Surviving are two children, Julia A. Bair and husband Duane of Townville and Raymond Peterson and his fiancé Kara Smith of Oil City; six brothers, Albert, John, Michael, Ernest, Richard, and Kenneth Beach, all of Oil City; six sisters, Sharon Whitton, Laurie Beach, Janice Rose, and Nancy Beach, all of Oil City, Janet Peterson of Grand Valley, and Blanche Beach of New York; two granddaughters, Kristi Bair of Youngstown, Ohio, and Amanda Bair of Townville; and two step-granddaughters, Christina and Savana Smith of Oil City. Also surviving are the following nieces and nephews and their families: Jeannie, Jim, Arlena, Tracy, Shelly, Victoria, Matthew, Ernest N., Ernest, Alicia, Crystal, Tammy, Amber, Jennifer, Carl, Missy, Chrissy, Karen, Richard, Jr., Ryan, Kathy, Marcy, Greg, Edgar, Jr., Iva, Raymond, Jr., Tammy Boden, Brenda, Loretta, Albert, Jr., Kenny, Chad, and Johnny.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Leroy Peterson, Jr., two brothers, Norman and Carl Beach; and a nephew, Jerry Whitton.

Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday (July 19th) from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will follow from the funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Leroy Learn, pastor of the Titusville Christian Missionary Alliance Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.
