Ruby J. Knight, 84, of 456 Sawtown Road, Oil City, died at5:11 am, Friday, February 28, 2014, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.
Born August 13, 1928 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Confer Knight.
Ruby worked for Miller’s Meat Market and Tasty Freeze, and also at Shirley’s Restaurant in Seneca.
She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.
On November 9, 1946 she married Doyle R. Knight, who preceded her in death on July 10, 2012.
Ruby is survived by two daughters, Carla Hollobaugh and husband Robert of Oil City, and Connie Holowell and husband Charles of Chester WV; five grandchildren, Wendy Flaherty and husband James, William Boyd, Jacqueline Stack and husband Thomas, Denise Irwin and husband David, and Kari Simmons and husband Rick; 10 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Virginia Stover of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by a great grandson; one sister, Doris Quigley; and best friends, Connie Knight and Marge Miller who were more like sisters.
Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 am Tuesday with the Rev. Pete Knight, officiating.
Interment will be in Venus Cemetery.
