Edwin Henry Knight

Edwin Henry Knight, age 80, Salem, completed his earthly journey May 1 at 9:15 p.m. while a patient at Salem Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 24, 1933 to James and Dillie (Neal) Knight in Oil City, PA. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife, Alice Jane (Wise) Knight whom he married on Sept. 24, 1951. A son, Frederick (Denise) of Salem and a daughter, Laura (Randy) Justice of Mt. Orab, OH., 2 sisters, Elva Fink and Josie Knight both of Oil City,PA. His grandchildren Paul (Sharon) Knight, Scott (Mikie) Knight, Brandon (Priscilla) Knight, Tosha (Ryan) Leimberger, Travis (Jennifer) Justice, Tawnya (Andrew) Carter, Trisha (Jon) Marshall and Tyler (Jaimi) Justice, a grand daughter-in-law Eunice Knight, Thirteen great-grandchildren.

While in high school he was employed at Clark’s Donut Shop in Oil City and he loved to bake and was known for his cinnamon rolls. He then worked at the Pennsoil Refinery in Rouseville, PA for 10 years. The next 24 years he worked for Penn Power as a diesel mechanic until his retirement in 1990. He lived the next 14 years in Hobe Sound, FL and in 2004 returned to Salem, OH to be near family. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Rev. W.A. Robbie, a half brother, Charles Knight , half-sister, Mattie Clark, a bother, John and a granddaughter Tiffany Dawn Justice. When he was able he attended the Salem Wesleyan Methodist Church.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, from 6 to 8 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greensien & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services,(1617 East State Street, Salem, Ohio 44460) and on Saturday from noon to 2 PM at the Oak Grove Church ( 10 Oak Grove Road, Mercer, Pa.)

The funeral services will be on Saturday, 2 PM at the Oak Grove Church with the Rev Stanley Grabill of the Salem church officiating. Arrangements were in joint cooperation by the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, Ohio and the Scott A. Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro and Sandy lake, Pa.
