Mary Jo Altenburg, age 59, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at UPMC-Pittsburgh.
She was born August 22, 1954 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Stephen E. Martin and Vyola G. (Sipps) Martin.
Mary Jo attended St. Agatha’s and Meadville public schools, and worked at the Meadville Medical Center for 13 years.
She is survived by her long time companion Edward Hoffarth of Oil City, two children: Cara Davis Hall and her husband Bill of Conneautville, PA; a son Casey Altenburg of Erie, PA and six grandchildren; Tyler Hall, Kaylee Hall, Cody Hall ;and Brendon, Marissia, and Blaize, two sisters; Nancy Addison, and her husband Daniel of Ravenna, Ohio, and Theresa (Terry) Baker, and her husband Thomas, of Meadville, PA, and by her companion’s mother, Edith Hoffarth of Oil City, PA.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by an infant brother Stephen, and three adult brothers Tom Martin, Frank E. Martin, and Jack Martin.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from noon until 2 PM at the Dickson Funeral Home and Crematory, Rocco R. Tedesco III, Supervisor, 130 N. Second Street, Conneaut Lake.
A blessing will be held at 2:00 PM by the Rev. Father Jeffrey Lucas, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of the Americas, Roman Catholic Church, Conneaut Lake.
Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.
