Boneta B. Gates, age 78 of Tin Town Rd, Sligo died December 3, 2013, at the Clarview Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Born in Limestone, Pa on May 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert M. Henry and Thelma M. Miller Henry.
She was married to Richard Gates who survives.
Boneta was a homemaker and worked as a cashier and hostess at the Clarion Clipper.
She was a member of the Grace Community Church in Curllsville and was active in the church choir.
She was a member of the Fiddle Arounds Square Dance Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband Richard of Sligo is two sons, Douglas R. Gates of Curllsville, Rob P. Gates and his wife Kim of Sligo, three daughters, Leslie A. Johnson and her husband Carl of Sligo, Lisha A. Knapp of Leeper and Lori Silk of Brookville.
She is also survived by a brother Carter Henry of Strattanville along with six grandchildren, Tina and Matthew Johnson, Nikki and Ashley Knapp, Larry Rupp and Tyler Gates and five great grandchildren, Zachary and Gabriel Johnson, Haley Merryman, Allie Kunselman and Connor Rupp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kirby Henry and Wendel D. Henry and two sisters, Roberta Leadbetter and Evelyn Dinger and a son-in-law, Jim Silk.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St and on Friday from 10:00 AM till time of services at 11:00 AM at the Grace Community Church in Curllsville.
Services will be at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Dan George officiating.
Interment will take place in the Churchville Cemetery.
Memorials maybe made to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice.
