Ronald M. McClaine

Ronald M. McClaine, 73, of Rt. 268 Chicora, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, passed away at 5:37a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Kittanning Care Center.

Mr. McClaine was born in Seybertown on October 6, 1940. He was the son of Francis J. “Frank” and Ada Schotts McClaine. He was a member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady. He enjoyed wood working, making picture frames, and raising chickens. He was a 1958 graduate of East Brady High School. Ron was employed for 14 years at Rex Hide Incorporated in East Brady and later for 24 years by Indspec Chemical Corporation in Petrolia, retiring in 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet E. Howard McClaine, whom he married at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady on June 1, 1963. Also surviving is a daughter, Ruth E. Cochran and her husband, Brian of Chicora, a daughter-in-law, Penny Switzer McClaine of Rimersburg; four grandchildren, Jeremy McClaine of Pittsburgh, Evan McClaine and his wife, Samantha of Sligo, Colin Cochran of Slippery Rock, and Brittany Cochran of Chicora; three brothers, James and William McClaine of East Brady, and Rodney McClaine and his wife, Lois of North Washington; two sisters, Jean Weibel of Queenstown, and Kathleen Healey and her husband, Jack of Seneca, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon McClaine, a son, Jeffrey McClaine, four brothers and one sister.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City, from 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday from the funeral home with the Rev. Mark A. Wallace, pastor of the Chicora Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, and Rev. Jerry W. Pyle, associate church pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Eusebius Cemetery, East Brady.
